S-so uh I’m going to Kitsune Kon in March and my absolute favorite thing about cosplay is doing it with a friend or group. My sister, who is an amazing seamstress, has started putting together a Rapunzel cosplay (brunette version, because she finds wigs uncomfortable) and I wanted to do something to go along with it. And Rapunzel shows up at Elsa’s coronation, so I figured hey! Besides, there’s a fan theory (or was it confirmed?) that they’re cousins, and we’ll certainly have the family resemblance ;D
I have no sewing machine or skills (as evidenced by the fact that I took my measurements so incorrectly, there are two entire panels of this dress that I ended up not attaching) but Elsa’s coronation dress seemed simple enough in construction, at least compared to anything else from Tangled or Frozen. Plus I just really, really love that dress. I clearly have a LOT of work to do yet, but the wig I ordered arrived today so I had to see how what I did have so far looked all together. Also yeah I realize the shade of teal is too bright, but it’s the closest color I could find in a fabric that seemed easy enough to work with for a total noob like me to sew by hand, and cheap enough that if I completely destroy it along the way, I’ll feel slightly less bad about having to buy more fabric and start again.
